Health Care Professional Resuscitation Training
This Meditec Training course is a short resuscitation course; it is essential for all state registered healthcare professionals and others working in a healthcare setting. All healthcare professionals and those working in a healthcare setting are expected to be proficient in CPR. All healthcare professionals should be proficient in resuscitating unconscious patients and must attend training every three years. Those with a duty to respond to paediatric emergencies must be trained in a specific protocol for children and infants. Non-healthcare professionals working in a healthcare setting should also be proficient in performing CPR. This syllabus strictly follows all Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and recommendations.
Course Syllabus:
Students will learn how to deal with unconscious casualties of all ages. Including all current resuscitation guidelines and recommendations as set out by the Resuscitation Council (UK)
- Communication and casualty care.
- Managing an incident.
- Adult, child and infant resuscitation.
- Treatment of choking in adults, children and infants.
Course Duration
2 hours
Assessment and Certification
On completion of this course, all delegates will be able to confidently demonstrate all areas of this syllabus. Throughout the course our instructors will use simulated incidents using resuscitation manikins. All candidates will be issued with a certificate of competence valid for three years upon successful completion of this course. There is no formal examination at the end of the course; however the instructor will provide continuous assessment throughout the course.
