General First Aid and CPR Training
This Meditec Training course will teach you everyday first aid skills, which are invaluable when accidents happen. This course includes an optional module for adult, child and infant CPR training. The course covers how to deal with minor and deteriorating conditions in any casualty.
Meditec Training welcomes young people from the age of 12 onto the general first aid course. If under the age of 16, you must attend with a responsible adult member of the family or a guardian (two young people per adult).
Course Syllabus:
- Communication and casualty care.
- Looking after yourself and the casualty.
- Treatment of minor bleeding and minor burns.
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty.
- Priorities of first aid and managing the scene.
- Treatment of a choking casualty.
- Treatment of fainting, bites and stings, sprains and strains.
- Foreign bodies in eye, ears and nose.
- Suspected fractures.
- Poisoning
- CPR training – adult, child and infant (optional)
Course Duration
6 hours (3 without CPR training)
Assessment and Certification
On completion of this course, all delegates will be able to confidently demonstrate all areas of this courses syllabus. Throughout the course our instructors will use simulated incidents using resuscitation manikins. All candidates will be issued with a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of this course. There is no formal examination at the end of the course; however the instructor will provide continuous assessment throughout the course.
