Emergency Life Support Training
This course deals with serious conditions and incidents. The syllabus provides training in dealing with adult, children and infant casualties. This course is ideal if you want to know what to do when faced with an emergency involving a casualty of any age.
Meditec Training welcomes young people from the age of 12 onto all our emergency life support training courses. If under the age of 16, you must attend with a responsible adult member of the family or a guardian (two young people per adult).
Course Syllabus:
- Communication and casualty care.
- Managing an incident.
- Looking after yourself and the casualty.
- Adult, child and infant resucitation.
- Treatment of severe bleeding, chest pain and an unconscious casualty.
- Treatment of choking in adults, children and infants.
Course Duration
3.5 hours
Assessment and Certification
On completion of this course, all delegates will be able to confidently demonstrate all areas of the emergency life support syllabus. Throughout the course our instructors will use simulated incidents using resuscitation manikins. All candidates will be issued with a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of this course. There is no formal examination at the end of the course; however the instructor will provide continuous assessment throughout the course.
